Jesse Aragon — Cinematographer
Jesse Aragon is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer and Director of Photography originally from San Diego, California. For more than 13 years, he has photographed narrative films, documentaries, commercials, television and music videos throughout the United States and internationally.
A graduate of San Diego State University’s Television and Film program, Jesse approaches cinematography as a close collaboration between story, performance and visual design. His work combines naturalistic lighting, expressive composition and a carefully developed visual language that supports the emotional perspective of each project.
His credits include Wild Faith, Can You Take My Picture, Pretty Boy, The Ballad of a Coyote, La Ramona, The Jester’s Song, Ugly Ducklings and Worst Date, Best Date. Recent projects include Gossamer, Needle and Light, 29 Palms, Zero Limits and Waiting for the End.
Creative Philosophy
Visual Approach
Jesse draws inspiration from everyday life, visual art, travel and encounters with different cultures and environments. He is particularly interested in stories that examine identity, relationships and shared human experiences.
Rather than applying the same aesthetic to every production, Jesse works closely with each director to find a visual language that grows naturally from the material. That approach may be intimate and restrained, heightened and atmospheric, or energetic and immediate, depending on the emotional needs of the story.
His goal is to create images that feel cinematic without losing their connection to performance, character and place.
“I’m drawn to stories about people and human experiences that connect us across different cultures, environments and backgrounds.”
